“Stab in the Back”: Barça Accuse PSG Player

The transfer of young talent Dro Fernandez to Paris Saint-Germain continues to cause frustration at FC Barcelona. While the €8 million fee helped the club regain some liquidity, the deal is still difficult to accept internally. Club officials believe a verbal agreement was bypassed to facilitate the player’s move to Paris.

In Barcelona, some even speak of a real betrayal. After the efforts made to integrate the midfielder into the first team, his departure is perceived as a “stab in the back.” The breakdown of trust with the player’s entourage is now complete.

Barcelona Leaders Criticize the Circumstances of the Transfer

Joan Laporta did not hold back his words on the Jijantes channel. “Dro’s departure was a real betrayal. I’m disappointed because I felt betrayed by Ivan de la Peña (his agent). Hansi [Flick] was very disappointed because I had given him playing time. ‘Lo Pelat’ is someone special because of his past at Barça, but he showed us his hypocrisy.”

“We made an exception, and he did something very serious. He lied to us. Fortunately, we maintain good relations with PSG, and he did not use his release clause.”

Hansi Flick, for his part, adopted a more measured tone while still revealing his frustration. “As coaches, our role is to give players confidence so they can flourish. I also know there are people around him. We may not agree with what they do, but they are adults. There are people around them and they can influence them.”

Despite the controversy, Barça remains focused on La Liga, where the Blaugrana hold a four-point lead over Real Madrid. Meanwhile, Dro Fernandez is trying to establish himself at PSG, with three starts in six matches across all competitions. A still tentative beginning in the French capital.
