As every year, Le Journal de Mickey reveals the ranking of the favorite personalities among 7–14-year-olds… and 2026 brings its share of surprises.
Mbappé is dropping, Giroud is holding strong, and Dembélé is soaring: the ranking of children’s idols is shaking up the stars. At the top, singer Soprano takes the crown. But behind him, footballers continue to captivate younger audiences.
A shifting hierarchy among young fans
Right behind comes a major surprise. Believe it or not, Olivier Giroud climbs onto the podium in 3rd place. Nearly 40 years old, the striker proves he remains an icon among children. His return to France in Ligue 1 with Lille has certainly helped.
Boosted by his Ballon d’Or win in September, Ousmane Dembélé rises to 5th place. He moves ahead of Antoine Griezmann (7th) and even Zinédine Zidane (8th), marking a real surge in popularity. But the biggest shock is Kylian Mbappé’s sharp fall to 19th place. A first for the French captain, long used to the top. In 2019, he was number one and consistently reached the podium in the following years, before a first warning last year at 11th place. This time, the drop is undeniable.
Between influencers (Inoxtag, Squeezie, Michou), athletes (Wembanyama, Léon Marchand), and artists, young people have clearly changed their idols. The message is clear: even the biggest football stars are no longer untouchable.
