Kylian Mbappé has lost his temper. The French star was reportedly furious after a major blunder by Real Madrid’s medical staff, who allegedly examined the wrong knee. At least, that’s the version reported by the press. However, the player completely denies any medical mistake.
The case has caused quite a stir. Last December, Madrid’s doctors are said to have made an error during examinations on the striker: an MRI was performed on his right knee while the pain was actually in his left. According to Spanish media, the incident triggered an immediate internal reaction, with the player expressing strong anger.
Controversy Over a Supposed Medical Mix-Up
According to Marca, Mbappé reportedly flew into a “monumental rage” upon discovering the confusion. The outlet describes a serious mistake that disrupted the medical department, put the player in a difficult position, and deprived the team of its leader for several matches.
Faced with the situation, the forward turned to a specialist in France, Professor Bertrand Sonnery-Cottet. The verdict: no surgery required, but a specific recovery and muscle-strengthening program. Mbappé himself admitted going through a difficult period, far from the most fulfilling of his career. Those close to him reportedly struggled to understand how such an error could occur, though the player now appears mainly relieved.
Despite the scale of the controversy, Mbappé has sought to calm things down. He firmly denies any medical error by Real Madrid, while acknowledging that his silence may have fueled speculation. “No, the information about the wrong knee is not true. I may be indirectly responsible for this situation. When you don’t communicate about what you have and what’s going on, it leaves room for interpretation. That’s part of the game. I know what I’m getting into when I don’t speak. With Real, we had fairly clear communication, just like when I went to Paris and saw other doctors,” he said. He also added that the team’s performances in his absence were positive, emphasizing that strong competition within the squad is healthy and that his return will show how things evolve.
