Griezmann to MLS: it’s official! Orlando has made a major move by signing the French star, who will leave Atlético Madrid in the summer of 2026. At 35, the 2018 World Cup winner will earn close to €10 million per year and sign a deal running until 2028, with an option for 2029.
“Antoine Griezmann is a Lion,” Orlando confirmed this Tuesday. “We have signed a global football icon and 2018 FIFA World Cup winner from Atlético. He will join the club in July 2026 on a contract running through the 2027-2028 season, with an option for the 2028-2029 season as a designated player.”
Griezmann’s move marks a new chapter in MLS
A legend of the Colchoneros with 211 goals, “Grizi” will be released one year before the end of his contract. His goal before leaving: to win the Copa del Rey with Atlético. He will then be freed from his contract, which was initially set to expire in 2027, as recognition for his services.
