Kylian Mbappé is showing immense confidence in Neymar as the World Cup approaches: yes, the Brazilian will be selected for the tournament.
In a statement relayed by geglobo, French forward Kylian Mbappé made it clear: the World Cup must bring together the biggest stars… and Neymar will be one of them. For him, a World Cup without the Brazilian is simply unimaginable.
Mbappé Confident in Neymar’s Return to the Biggest Stage
Mbappé is even categorical: he is convinced that “Ney” will be physically ready when the time comes. A strong message at a time when questions remain about the player’s fitness.
“Who best represents Brazil between Neymar and Vinicius? I think it can be both. The truth is that Vini still needs to take a step forward with the national team, but Neymar is Neymar. He’s a great player. The World Cup is the competition of stars, all the stars are here. And in my book, Neymar is one of the biggest stars. I can’t imagine a World Cup without Neymar.”
However, the Frenchman also remains measured. “In the end, I can’t go against my former coach, Ancelotti. His decision must be respected. But Neymar is, for me, a player who makes a huge difference. I played with him, I learned a lot from him. We’ll see how he is, but I know Neymar, he will prepare for the World Cup and he will be there,” he said for Globo Esporte. In short, Mbappé firmly believes in Neymar’s return to the global stage—and already sees him shining at the biggest event.
