After Paris Saint-Germain’s dominant win over Liverpool FC (2-0), Luis Enrique decided to reward his squad with a full 48 hours of rest. This is a rare move at the highest level. PSG didn’t get much time off last summer, with an intense Club World Cup campaign followed by the Super Cup. The players were exhausted.
Since the start of the season, Luis Enrique has been carefully managing rest periods for each player, as well as for the entire squad. Following the victory against Liverpool, the Spanish coach has done it again, granting his players two full days off after this convincing performance. It’s an unusual decision at this stage of the season, but one made possible by a lighter schedule.
Perfect Timing Ahead of Champions League Clash
The Parisians will only return to training on Saturday at 11 a.m., with their focus already set on the Champions League return leg at Anfield. This break is notably made possible by the postponement of the Ligue 1 match against RC Lens, initially scheduled for April 11.
This gives PSG the opportunity to recharge ahead of a crucial trip to England, at a key moment in their European campaign.
