Liam Rosenior has already been dismissed by Chelsea: the former Strasbourg manager is set to receive a substantial severance package, though not necessarily as high as some rumors suggested.
A jackpot… but not quite as big as expected for Liam Rosenior. Removed from his position at Chelsea FC after just a few months, the English coach will receive a comfortable compensation package—without reaching the figures sometimes mentioned.
Chelsea Limits Financial Impact of Managerial Exit
The London club officially confirmed his departure, praising his professionalism while justifying the decision with insufficient results. “This decision was not taken lightly. However, recent results and performances have fallen short of the expected standards,” the Blues stated in their announcement.
Behind this swift separation lies a significant financial aspect. Chelsea, known for structuring its contracts with specific clauses, manages to limit the economic impact of such decisions. While the theoretical maximum payout could have reached €25 to €27 million, the reality appears quite different.
According to the club’s recent practices, Liam Rosenior is expected to receive between €5 and €10 million, roughly equivalent to one or two seasons’ salary. Still a considerable sum… for such a brief stint on the Stamford Bridge bench. In the meantime, Chelsea FC has appointed Calum McFarlane as interim manager, aiming to salvage the end of the season amid a push for European qualification and an FA Cup run.
