Bruno Genesio has been warned: managing Olympique de Marseille can completely change a career… and even a life. Christophe Dugarry delivered a strong message to the French coach, who could soon arrive in Marseille.
As the French manager is reportedly among the favorites to replace Habib Beye on the Marseille bench, Christophe Dugarry issued a major warning on RMC. The former OM striker claimed that the Marseille experience is simply “unimaginable.”
Marseille Pressure Already Raising Doubts
“Everything he imagines will be ten times worse,” Dugarry said bluntly. Having experienced the pressure surrounding the club himself as a player, he believes nobody comes out of a Marseille adventure “unscathed” because of the extreme emotions and passion surrounding OM.
“It’s going to be an adventure if he joins OM, so he needs to prepare himself. You enter an unimaginable experience, something that can sometimes feel unreal. I do have a small doubt: does he really want to change his life and even change himself a little? Because you never come out of a Marseille adventure untouched,” Dugarry explained.
The 1998 World Cup winner still believes that almost no coach can refuse an opportunity like Marseille. However, he also wonders whether Bruno Genesio is truly ready to handle such intense pressure every single day. For now, nothing has been finalized regarding OM’s future coach, but one thing is already certain: replacing Habib Beye promises to be an enormous challenge.
