Mason Greenwood could become one of the biggest stories of the Italian transfer window. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, AS Roma’s qualification for next season’s Champions League has completely changed the club’s plans and reignited their pursuit of the OM striker.

Mason Greenwood could also leave Olympique de Marseille this summer. With major changes expected behind the scenes, including a new management structure and potentially a new sporting direction, the squad is likely to undergo a significant rebuild. The English forward is now among the players who could be heading for the exit.

Roma Ready to Spend Big for Greenwood

At Roma, Gian Piero Gasperini is reportedly dreaming of a transfer window capable of building a squad strong enough to challenge for the Serie A title, and Greenwood is said to be one of his top priorities. The Englishman has allegedly already sent positive signals through his entourage while waiting for Roma’s Champions League qualification to be confirmed.

However, OM have no intention of selling their attacking star cheaply. Still according to Gazzetta dello Sport, Marseille are demanding around €50 million to part ways with Greenwood after his impressive season in France.

Roma are eager to take advantage of the financial boost provided by Champions League football and are prepared to spend heavily this summer. The Friedkin family could reportedly invest more than €100 million in the transfer market to give Gasperini a squad capable of competing with Italy’s biggest clubs. Greenwood is considered one of the new Roma coach’s dream targets, alongside Antonio Nusa and Joshua Zirkzee, in a deal that could quickly spark major tension in Marseille this summer.
