The emotion was overwhelming at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday as Pep Guardiola took charge of his final match as manager of Manchester City against Aston Villa, bringing an incredible ten-year era to an end.
After the match, the Spanish coach could not hold back his tears in front of the City supporters. “It was a huge honour to be your manager,” Guardiola said during an emotional speech delivered in the middle of a stunned and heartbroken Etihad Stadium.

Clearly overwhelmed by the moment, Guardiola ended his farewell with one final emotional message to Manchester City supporters: “If you ever see me one day, come and see me and give me a hug.” A touching goodbye for a coach who completely transformed the history of Manchester City and left a huge mark on modern football.
