Paris Saint-Germain are heading into their Champions League final against Arsenal with almost a full squad available… unlike the Gunners, who could arrive in Budapest with a completely weakened defense. Just days before the European showdown, the latest news coming out of London is causing major concern for Mikel Arteta.
While PSG have dealt with several injuries this season, Luis Enrique should be able to rely on nearly his entire squad for a second consecutive Champions League final. Only Quentin Ndjantou is expected to miss out for the Parisian side.
Arsenal Facing Defensive Nightmare Before Final
Arsenal, meanwhile, continue to receive bad news. Already without Ben White, who suffered a serious knee injury two weeks ago, the English club could also lose Jurrien Timber for the final. The Dutch defender has been struggling with fitness issues for more than two months, and his return now looks highly unlikely.
A huge problem for Arsenal… especially in the area where Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has been devastating opponents in recent weeks. Without Ben White or Timber, Arteta may be forced to improvise against PSG’s Georgian winger. And the concerns do not stop there, as Noni Madueke also remains doubtful after picking up a muscle injury during the last Premier League match against Crystal Palace.
Meanwhile, Luis Enrique is calmly finalizing his starting lineup. Achraf Hakimi is expected to be fit, while Warren Zaïre-Emery could start on the bench despite his recent return to form. In midfield, Vitinha, João Neves and Fabian Ruiz should once again start together, while Désiré Doué is favored to join Ousmane Dembélé and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in attack. In Paris, all the signs appear to be positive ahead of this massive European final… but of course, nothing is decided until the match is played.
