A huge scare has hit Brazil over Neymar’s condition with the national team. The Santos forward underwent extensive medical examinations in Teresópolis after feeling calf pain shortly after arriving at the Seleção training camp.
Neymar is worrying Brazil and putting the federation under pressure. According to Globo Esporte, the Brazilian star spent nearly an hour inside a private clinic alongside doctor Rodrigo Lasmar and several CBF officials in recent hours. When leaving the clinic, Neymar reportedly looked extremely concerned before returning to Granja Comary lying down inside a federation van.
Brazil Increasingly Concerned About Neymar
Behind the scenes, anxiety is already growing. Neymar is expected to miss the friendly match against Panama, while his availability against Egypt also appears highly doubtful. The CBF now wants to take every possible precaution ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
The situation is also creating tensions with Santos. The Brazilian club had informed the federation that Neymar was only suffering from a minor edema following his latest match against Coritiba. However, the first examinations carried out by the national team pushed Rodrigo Lasmar to request additional tests.
Brazil’s final World Cup squad must be confirmed on June 1. After that deadline, replacements will only be allowed in the event of a serious injury validated by FIFA. Neymar’s condition will therefore be monitored extremely closely over the next few days.
