World Cup: Haaland’s Norway brings 300 kg of Fish and 116 kg of Cheese to the USA

Some national teams arrive with video analysts, fitness coaches, or sports psychologists. Norway, however, has arrived at the 2026 World Cup with 300 kilograms of fish, 116 kilograms of cheese, and 6,000 oranges.

Norway Brings a Taste of Home

The shipment is remarkable: nearly 300 kilograms of Norwegian fish, 116 kilograms of traditional brown cheese, and no fewer than 6,000 oranges were transported across the Atlantic to the team’s base camp in Greensboro, North Carolina.

That is not all. Three renowned chefs have also traveled with the squad and will prepare meals for the players throughout the competition. “We want what we consider to be quality and work with the best Norwegian ingredients available,” explained chef Aaron Espeland.

The unusual strategy has already amused other delegations. However, if Haaland and his teammates shine during the tournament, nobody will be laughing at the Vikings’ suitcases filled with fish and oranges. Norway’s future opponents, including France, may soon discover that the Scandinavians have brought a small piece of home with them to the World Cup.
