Olympique de Marseille are reportedly beginning to prepare for the possible departure of Geronimo Rulli. The southern French club are notably monitoring Toulouse FC’s young French goalkeeper Guillaume Restes, who is also attracting interest from the Premier League.
Bruno Genesio wants to build a strong French core at OM, starting with the goalkeeper position. According to Foot Mercato, Marseille have added Restes to their shortlist, and the move could become a priority if Rulli leaves the club in the coming weeks.
Aston Villa Join the Race for Restes
At just 21 years old, the France Under-21 international has established himself as one of the most promising goalkeepers of his generation. A product of Toulouse’s academy, he remains under contract with the club until June 2028, leaving TFC in a strong negotiating position.
Marseille are not alone in pursuing him, however. Aston Villa are also reportedly tracking Restes and could make a move if Emiliano Martinez leaves during the summer transfer window.
OM will therefore wait for clarity over Rulli’s future before stepping up their interest. Restes represents a young and ambitious option, but competition from England and the length of his Toulouse contract could quickly drive up his transfer fee.
