At 36 years old, Ivan Perisic isn’t ready to hang up his boots just yet. Fresh off winning the Eredivisie with PSV, the Croatian veteran could be heading to Barcelona—on a free transfer.
The Catalan club is hunting for low-cost experience, and Perisic fits the bill perfectly. Hansi Flick, who coached him during their successful stint at Bayern, has already approved the move. His arrival wouldn’t interfere with Barça’s top target, Luis Díaz, and Perisic himself is reportedly eager to stay at the top level through to the 2026 World Cup.
A summer clean-out begins
Before bringing players in, Barça plans to trim the fat—in a big way. An “operation clear-out” is underway, with seven players at risk, including major names like Ter Stegen, Ronald Araújo, and Frenkie de Jong.
Others like Ansu Fati, Iñaki Peña, and Pablo Torre could also be shown the door. The club’s goal? Slash the wage bill, meet financial fair play rules, and give Flick a leaner, sharper squad to reshape in his image.
Buckle up—a turbulent summer awaits in Catalonia.
