Olympique de Marseille are stepping up their efforts to secure a key defensive signing.
According to Le Phocéen, the club is in advanced talks with Nelson Semedo, the 31-year-old Portuguese right-back and former Barcelona player, who is out of contract with Wolverhampton.
OM pushing hard for Semedo deal
Semedo, coming off a strong Premier League season with 34 appearances, has declined a contract extension with Wolves and is now a free agent. Marseille are hoping to take advantage of the situation to sign him on a free transfer.
Sources describe the move as “well on track”, although caution remains until an official agreement is reached. Semedo would bring valuable experience to Roberto De Zerbi’s new-look squad.
