Mohamed Salah, Liverpool’s star, revealed that he seriously considered joining the Saudi Arabian league before extending his contract with the Reds last April.
Salah could have said goodbye to the Reds. The Egyptian international, who had an outstanding season with 29 goals in the Premier League, admitted that Saudi Arabia presented him with an interesting opportunity.

The attacker also pointed out that “serious negotiations” had taken place, emphasizing the genuine interest in him. However, Salah mentioned that his relationship with the Saudi officials remained good, leaving the door open for a future collaboration with the Saudi league. Salah’s current contract with Liverpool runs until June 2027. While a move to Saudi Arabia didn’t happen this year, the saga could well resume once his deal with the Reds ends, when conditions may be more favorable for a transfer.
