But it was his unexpected remark, caught on Ligue 1+ microphones, that went viral.
The Nantes president was heard telling the PSG captain: “You Brazilians, you adapt well. You’re Christians, that’s good.” A strange comment in a football context, quickly shared – and often distorted – across social media. Some even claimed he said “You Brazilians, you’re well integrated in France,” but the actual words were different.
On the pitch, Paris did the job. With a rotated squad, Luis Enrique brought on his key men after halftime, and it was Vitinha, captain for the night, who sealed the win with a deflected strike (67’). A minimal but efficient victory, overshadowed by Kita’s odd pre-match moment.
