Trent Alexander-Arnold, the right-back for Real Madrid, suffered a muscle injury early in the match against Olympique de Marseille, forcing him to exit in the 5th minute.  Dani Carvajal took his place as the team secured a 2-1 victory in the Champions League.

Despite the injury, coach Xabi Alonso downplayed the situation during the post-match press conference. He suggested that the injury might not be as severe as initially feared, stating, “We will wait a bit, but it’s possibly not as serious as we thought.”

Alonso also highlighted the need for creativity in addressing squad challenges, especially with Raul Asencio’s impressive performance and the returns of Eduardo Camavinga and Jude Bellingham, who are set to play on Saturday.

Injury Update on Alexander-Arnold

While Carvajal will be available for La Liga matches, Real Madrid faces a dilemma for their upcoming Champions League match in Almaty on September 30.

Carvajal is suspended due to a red card received against Marseille, potentially leaving the team without a seasoned right-back.

This situation puts additional pressure on the squad, but with Alonso’s confidence and tactical flexibility, Real Madrid aims to navigate through these challenges effectively.
