Appointed as Germany head coach until July 2030, Jürgen Klopp wasted no time setting the tone. Officially unveiled on Friday, the former Liverpool manager adopted a particularly combative stance toward the media, immediately displaying his high standards and determination to restore the Nationalmannschaft to the top of world football.
At the beginning of his press conference, Klopp issued a clear warning about criticism. “If you go after my family, I’m gone. If you think I’m useless, tell me to my face and I will leave immediately without asking for any compensation. I’m not doing this job for myself. I’m doing it for you,” the German coach declared, before stressing that he fully understood the context after the treatment received by Julian Nagelsmann and Thomas Tuchel.
Klopp Compares Germany With France
The new head coach also discussed the current gap between Germany and the world’s leading national teams. Speaking frankly, he acknowledged France’s superiority in terms of individual talent, while refusing to see it as an insurmountable obstacle. “When people in Germany ask whether we are as good as France, the answer is no. Do we have players like Dembélé, Mbappé, Doué or Barcola? The answer is no. But we can still beat them,” Klopp said, convinced that collective strength can make up for differences in talent.

The former Liverpool manager finally insisted that Germany must rediscover its own identity. “It is not important to look at France, Spain or Argentina. The most important thing is to look at ourselves and the way we play football. We are not number one in the world today, but we must make it possible to believe that we can beat the best teams through our football,” concluded the new Mannschaft boss.
