Paul Pogba has officially signed with AS Monaco until 2027. At the club’s training ground in La Turbie, the 2018 World Cup winner was visibly emotional, breaking down in tears as he signed his new contract.
After being suspended since September 2023 for a doping violation, the 32-year-old midfielder is determined to start fresh.
“My hands are literally sweaty”
Despite his experience, Pogba admitted to feeling nervous: “Even with all the experience, until I put on the jersey and the shorts… my hands are literally sweaty! It’s positive stress, like when you sign as a youth player and leave your family to join the academy. That’s kind of how it felt,” he said.
His goal is clear: get back to top form in Ligue 1 and push for a spot at the 2026 World Cup. Monaco now becomes the launchpad for his comeback.
