After more than two years exiled at Montjuïc, FC Barcelona is finally set to return to its historic home. The Catalan club officially announced on Wednesday that it will be back at the Spotify Camp Nou on August 10, for the traditional Joan Gamper Trophy.
This friendly match will serve as the season opener for the Blaugrana and a dress rehearsal ahead of the La Liga campaign. To mark the occasion, Barça released a 1-minute-18-second promotional video confirming the stadium’s partial reopening.
While some sections are still under construction, the club is ready to reconnect with its iconic home.
Full capacity expected by September
This first phase of reopening won’t yet accommodate the full 105,000 spectator capacity planned for the renovated stadium. Key sections like the third tier, VIP ring, and roof structure are still being completed.
Barça hopes to reach full capacity after the September international break, as confirmed by club president Joan Laporta back in May. Until then, fans will once again step into their beloved stadium — even if only partially.
