Defeated and outplayed by Manchester City (0-3), Chelsea FC is going through a difficult period. Now sitting 6th in the Premier League, the Blues are seeing their hopes of qualifying for the Champions League becoming increasingly complicated.
Liam Rosenior is asking for time. Under heavy criticism, the Chelsea manager has stepped forward to defend his project. Recently appointed on the London bench, the former Strasbourg coach is calling for patience to build something long-term.
Rosenior Calls for Time to Build a Long-Term Project
“When I arrived, I never asked for much time because I know the history of this club. But to build something special, you need it,” he explained during a press conference.
To support his argument, Rosenior did not hesitate to reference two modern football icons: Pep Guardiola and Jürgen Klopp. According to him, even these managers needed time to implement their ideas, especially during Klopp’s early days at Liverpool. A clear message: Chelsea’s project cannot be judged over just a few months.
Despite inconsistent results, the internal trend remains one of stability. Barring a major turnaround, Rosenior is expected to retain the trust of the club’s leadership, even if Chelsea fails to qualify for the next Champions League. In London, the choice appears deliberate: prioritize continuity and hope that time proves their coach right.
