Ex Player Now Billionaire Mathieu Flamini Wants to Buy Arsenal

Mathieu Flamini, former player of Arsenal, is seriously considering getting involved in the club’s potential acquisition. And he certainly has the financial means to do so. Retired since 2019, the Frenchman successfully transitioned into biochemistry through his company GF Biochemicals.

Once widely exaggerated, his fortune is now very real: according to Forbes, it could reach nearly £10 billion by 2026. According to the English press, Flamini would be open to buying a stake in Arsenal, currently owned by businessman Stan Kroenke. “These clubs — Arsenal and Olympique de Marseille — have a special place in my heart. I never forget where I come from,” he said.

From Player to Potential Investor in Arsenal

Arsenal is valued between €3 and €4 billion, meaning such a move would likely represent only a partial investment for the former midfielder. Born in Marseille, Flamini became a key figure for the Gunners across two spells (2004–2008 and 2013–2016), making over 240 appearances.

Deeply attached to the club, the former midfielder may now seek to contribute to its future development — this time from behind the scenes.
