FC Barcelona wants to take no risks with Hansi Flick: the goal is a quick contract extension. But the coach has set his conditions, and they are far from light.
According to Bild, the Blaugrana leadership is pushing to lock Hansi Flick in until 2028, in order to avoid a tense start to the season with a coach nearing the end of his deal. Deco and the board want to secure the project… but Flick has laid down his rules.
Sporting Guarantees at the Heart of Negotiations
The German has said yes, but on his terms. No long contract, just one additional year, staying true to his philosophy. Flick has always made it clear: Barça could be his last adventure on the bench. And while he is happy in Barcelona, he is now waiting for strong actions.
Flick’s success speaks for itself. Without major resources, he revived Barça, outperformed Xavi, won trophies, and put the club back on the European map thanks to young talent.
The locker room is fully behind him, the management is impressed, and Laporta is convinced. But Flick will not sign without sporting guarantees: reinforcements are needed, especially a striker to prepare for the post-Lewandowski era and a more solid defense. The message is clear—either Barça invests, or the story could end sooner than expected.
