As Lyon faces potential relegation to Ligue 2 due to financial oversight from the DNCG, John Textor has dropped a bombshell: he’s stepping back.

The Eagle Football boss told Globo: “I’m going to dedicate a lot more time to Botafogo”, confirming his intent to shift focus toward the group’s wider projects and his Brazilian club.

“We will appoint a strong figure”

Although stepping away from day-to-day management in Lyon, Textor promised a fresh start: “We will appoint a strong figure” to represent the club. He also reassured fans that Eagle Football remains financially stable and even floated the idea of selling Crystal Palace to better support his teams.

Now, OL’s future lies in convincing the DNCG—and avoiding a nightmare summer.
