Kylian Mbappé and PSG are back in battle. On Monday, the latest episode of this explosive saga will unfold before the labor court in Paris. At stake: 55 million euros that the striker claims he has never received.
Mbappé is not backing down. Having left on a free transfer, he wants to recover every euro owed to him and is directly challenging his former club. In his complaint, he also demands the reclassification of his fixed-term contract to a permanent one, a significant legal detail that allows bypassing the conciliation phase to go straight to judgment.
The labor court, not accustomed to such a media earthquake, will see not the player, but the lawyers from both sides face off. Silence prevails before the hearing, with a verdict expected in several months: the judicial calendar is anything but a sprint.
Mbappé sidelined by PSG, the last straw
On Mbappé’s side, the tone is clear. His lawyer, Me Delphine Verheyden, outright accuses PSG of being a “bad payer.” She asserts that her client wants to defend his rights, but also those of players who find themselves facing the same types of practices.
This tense face-off is part of a relationship that has been broken for a long time. Excluded by Paris at the start of the 2023-2024 season for refusing to extend his contract, Mbappé was only reintegrated after the first matchday of Ligue 1… before leaving the club a few weeks later, without PSG recovering a single cent.
The sporting battle is over. The legal battle will reach its peak next week.
