Good news is on the horizon for FC Barcelona… and Spain. Sidelined with a left thigh injury on April 22 against Celta Vigo, Lamine Yamal will not play again this La Liga season. However, his absence may be short-lived.
On the eve of the trip to Osasuna, Hans-Dieter Flick expressed strong optimism about his young prodigy. “His rehabilitation is progressing well. We are in contact with the national team doctor. Lamine is improving and I reasonably believe he will be able to play in the World Cup,” said the Blaugrana coach.
Encouraging recovery boosts World Cup hopes
This reassuring update comes after an impressive season from the 18-year-old winger, who recorded 45 appearances and 24 goals across all competitions. The timing works in his favor, as Yamal still has several weeks to fully recover.
Barcelona will have to finish the season without him, but Spain can already start to believe.
