Randal Kolo Muani has barely returned to Juventus and he is already under pressure. Signed permanently this summer after a lengthy transfer saga involving PSG, the French striker has received a very clear first warning from Luciano Spalletti.
For his first Serie A match of the season, Kolo Muani started against Frosinone. Juve won 1-0, but the former PSG forward failed to score and, more importantly, missed a big chance. It was not exactly the return he had hoped for.
Spalletti Demands More From Kolo Muani
After the match, Luciano Spalletti did not hold back. The Italian coach expects much more from his new striker. “We went to get him and we know his value, but he has to realize that if he hasn’t played regularly for two years, there must be a reason,” Spalletti told DAZN. The message is clear: Kolo Muani has quality, but he must be decisive. At Juventus, a striker is primarily judged by his goals.

The warning comes only a few weeks after his permanent transfer. Juventus paid €38 million, with a further €12 million potentially due in bonuses, taking the total fee to as much as €50 million. Kolo Muani signed a contract until 2031, making him a major investment for Juve. For PSG, the deal allows the club to recover part of the €90 million spent to sign him from Eintracht Frankfurt in 2023. His time in Paris was ultimately mixed, with 11 goals and seven assists in 54 appearances.
Kolo Muani had already impressed during a previous loan spell at Juventus after falling out of Luis Enrique’s plans. He joined the Italian club in January 2025 and scored 10 goals in 22 matches, also providing three assists. He then spent the 2025-26 season at Tottenham, where he recorded five goals and five assists in 41 appearances. Despite that less impressive return, Juventus decided to bet on him again this summer. Spalletti, however, clearly does not intend to give him much time to settle: Kolo Muani is back in Turin to score, and his coach has already reminded him of that.
