Chelsea’s elimination against PSG (0-3) has left its mark, and not only on a sporting level. Trevoh Chalobah has not come to terms with his clash with Achraf Hakimi, which led to his injury late in the match.
The English defender injured his ankle in the 83rd minute following a strong challenge from the Parisian full-back. Forced to leave the pitch, he left his team to finish the game with ten men. A situation made even more frustrating for the Blues as Hakimi was not penalized for the incident.
Controversial challenge sparks frustration after PSG clash
The day after the match, Chalobah did not hide his frustration. On social media, he posted a strong statement: “My ankle should be broken,” clearly pointing out the dangerous nature of the challenge.
Although medical examinations are somewhat reassuring, with a high ankle sprain reported by the medical staff, Chelsea still faces another setback. The London club is already without several defensive players, including Reece James and Malo Gusto.
