Good news for Paris Saint-Germain. UEFA has decided to reduce Lucas Hernandez’s suspension in the Champions League, providing real relief for the Parisian club.
Sent off after an elbow on Xavi Simons during PSG’s emphatic 5–3 victory over Tottenham on November 26, the defender was initially handed a three-match suspension. A punishment deemed harsh by the club, which immediately lodged an appeal.
Reduced suspension offers timely relief for PSG
PSG ultimately won its case. After reviewing the file, UEFA reduced the French international’s suspension to two matches, a decision officially confirmed this Friday.
Already absent against Athletic Bilbao, Lucas Hernandez will also miss the trip to Sporting CP on January 20. However, he will be available for the final matchday of the league phase against Newcastle one week later, a valuable return for Luis Enrique ahead of a decisive fixture.
