Fresh off a historic treble and Champions League triumph, Paris Saint-Germain are building an even stronger squad for the upcoming 2025-26 season. While some deals are already confirmed, others are nearing completion — and a potential starting XI is beginning to take shape under Luis Enrique.
Goalkeeper Duel: Donnarumma vs Chevalier
Lille’s Lucas Chevalier (23) is set to join PSG in a €40M deal to challenge Gianluigi Donnarumma, whose future remains uncertain. The Italian, under contract until 2026, has yet to extend and is attracting interest from Premier League and Turkish clubs.
Chevalier is highly rated by Enrique for his composure and ball-playing skills, and could eventually become the new No.1.
Defensive Shake-Up
Captain Marquinhos will face stiff competition from Ilya Zabarnyi (22), expected to arrive from Bournemouth for €60–70M. Zabarnyi’s strength and clean distribution make him an ideal partner (or replacement) for the Brazilian. Lucas Beraldo keeps his place, while Achraf Hakimi and Nuno Mendes remain the preferred full-backs.
Midfield Stability
No major changes here: the midfield trio of Vitinha, João Neves, and Fabián Ruiz offers creativity, work rate, and tactical balance. Youngsters Zaïre Emery, Mayulu, and Lee Kang-In add depth from the bench.
A Revamped Front Three
Ousmane Dembélé has reinvented himself as a central striker after a standout campaign. On the left, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is now a guaranteed starter, while Désiré Doué could surprise everyone on the right wing. Bradley Barcola remains a valuable option off the bench.
Predicted XI:
Chevalier – Hakimi, Marquinhos, Pacho, Mendes – Vitinha, Neves, Ruiz – Doué, Dembélé, Kvaratskhelia
With depth, youth, and experience across all lines, PSG look well-equipped to defend their European crown — and dominate domestically once again.
