Kylian Mbappé’s Club World Cup debut is still on hold. Sidelined with acute gastroenteritis, the Real Madrid forward has missed the first two group-stage matches — and he’s now likely to miss the final one against Red Bull Salzburg on Friday.
According to El Chiringuito, Mbappé remains far from full fitness and may need another 10 days to fully recover. Journalist Edu Aguirre stated: “There’s no chance he starts. He’s still very weak.”
Xabi Alonso Won’t Take Risks
Madrid coach Xabi Alonso is expected to continue without the French star. The club won’t take any chances — especially not this early in the tournament. It’s a frustrating situation for Mbappé, whose World Cup campaign hasn’t even begun.
He’ll now hope to be available for the knockout stages — if Madrid get there without him.
