The Xabi Alonso era is about to begin at Real Madrid, and the club isn’t waiting for the season to end to begin its rebuild. With no major titles this year and Carlo Ancelotti’s exit confirmed, the Merengues are moving fast—very fast.

En résumé
Three Signings Nearly DoneSpending Fast and Big

Three Signings Nearly Done

  1. Trent Alexander-Arnold – Set to leave Liverpool as a free agent, the English full-back is on the verge of signing with Madrid. The club is even ready to pay a €2 million compensation fee to bring him in early for the Club World Cup.
  2. Dean Huijsen – The Bournemouth center-back, on loan from Juventus, will join Real for €58 million, with the deal already wrapped up. The Spanish international is expected to arrive in Madrid shortly.
  3. Álvaro Carreras – Currently at Benfica, the former Madrid youth product is now the top target to bolster the left flank. Despite a €50 million release clause, the club is pushing ahead and hopes to finalize the signing by the end of May.

Spending Fast and Big

Though the club initially aimed to keep spending minimal, Real have already committed over €100 million—a clear signal that the rebuild is urgent and ambitious.
