Violence and chaos have plunged OGC Nice into turmoil after Sunday night’s incidents. Following the defeat to Lorient, around 400 supporters confronted the players, with Terem Moffi and Jérémie Boga physically assaulted and subjected to racist insults.

The shocking scenes sparked outrage, contradictory testimonies and growing concern over the club’s trajectory.

The violence erupted at the training centre, where fans awaited the team’s return. Moffi and Boga were reportedly struck and targeted by racist abuse, prompting both players to file official complaints. The UNFP immediately condemned the attacks, insisting that no sporting frustration can justify such behaviour.

Legal actions underway

Some supporters present, however, offered a different version, describing a heated confrontation but denying any physical assault. One witness claimed he saw no blows, despite the volatile atmosphere and intense exchanges. These conflicting testimonies only deepen the already tense climate surrounding the club.

Nice’s management issued a statement acknowledging fan frustration but firmly condemning the incidents. Public figures like Daniel Riolo and Jérôme Rothen pointed to a deeper structural malaise within the club and a dangerous drift in the relationship between fans and players.

With shaken players, legal actions underway and a squad already struggling on the pitch, many fear longlasting consequences — and a season that may spiral even further for the Aiglons.
