In a move that was widely anticipated, Manchester City has officially confirmed the departure of goalkeeper Ederson to Turkish club Fenerbahçe. The 32-year-old Brazilian is leaving the Premier League giants with just one year left on his contract, and in return, City will pocket just under €15 million from the transfer.

Ederson joined Manchester City back in 2017 from Benfica for a hefty fee of €40 million. During his six-year tenure, he has made an impressive 372 appearances and has been instrumental in the club’s success, helping them secure a staggering 18 titles.

Ederson’s Legacy at Man City and Future at Fenerbahçe

As Ederson waves goodbye, Manchester City is set to welcome Gianluigi Donnarumma from Paris Saint-Germain as his replacement. The Italian goalkeeper’s signing is expected to be confirmed shortly, marking a new chapter for the Citizens as they bolster their squad for the upcoming season.

In addition to Ederson’s departure, another key player is on the move. Ilkay Gündogan, who has not seen any action under Pep Guardiola this season, is also leaving City. The 34-year-old midfielder is reportedly heading to Galatasaray, with final arrangements being made for his transfer to the Turkish club. If all goes smoothly, Gündogan will ink a two-year deal, keeping him at Galatasaray until June 2027.
