As the transfer market draws to a close, tensions are rising in the negotiations surrounding Gianluigi Donnarumma. The Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) has already lowered its asking price for the Italian goalkeeper from €50 million to €30 million.

However, Manchester City is attempting to leverage the situation further by submitting a significantly lower bid.

According to reports from L’Équipe, Manchester City has made an offer of just €15 million for Donnarumma, which is half of the revised price set by PSG. This comes as a surprise, especially considering that PSG had already made a concession by reducing the price substantially.

The European champion from 2021 is under contract until 2026 but is no longer seen as a key player for the Parisian club.

City Only Offers €15 Million for the Goalkeeper

Despite PSG’s willingness to let Donnarumma go, Manchester City appears to be playing the waiting game. Behind the scenes, City’s management is not ruling out the possibility of waiting until January or even next summer to acquire Donnarumma for an even lower price, or potentially on a free transfer.

The situation has become increasingly complicated, as Manchester City is unlikely to make any moves until they first sell Ederson, who is expected to join Galatasaray. Meanwhile, PSG is actively exploring other options and potential suitors, but Donnarumma has reportedly made up his mind: it’s Manchester City or nothing.

His representatives have indicated that he is willing to wait until January, posing a significant risk for PSG, which could end up in a difficult position with an unwanted goalkeeper as the transfer window closes in just a few days.
