João Félix has officially joined Al-Nassr, turning down a return to Benfica to continue his career in Saudi Arabia. The Portuguese forward, 25, left Chelsea this summer and received public backing from none other than Cristiano Ronaldo.
Speaking after Al-Nassr’s 4–0 friendly win over Rio Ave, Ronaldo, now 40, praised his compatriot’s decision: “I think it was a better option for João to come to Saudi Arabia rather than return to the Portuguese league. Considering the stars, the players, and the overall competitiveness here, it was the right choice. Even if he’s not playing in the Champions League and some say he’s too young for Saudi football, I believe it was a very good decision.”
As expected, Ronaldo continues to champion the Saudi Pro League — and João Félix is now the latest big name to join the project.
