FC Barcelona is already looking towards life after Robert Lewandowski. Reports from El Nacional indicate that the Blaugrana are seriously considering Harry Kane, currently with Bayern Munich, as a potential replacement for the Polish striker.
At 32, the English captain has proven to be a solid investment in Germany. Since joining Bayern from Tottenham in 2023, Kane has scored 91 goals and provided 28 assists in 100 games, showcasing impressive performance despite transfer rumors swirling around him.
Kane is contracted with Bayern until 2027, but he reportedly has a decreasing release clause, which could facilitate a move as early as next summer. Manchester United is closely monitoring the situation, as Kane is tempted by a return to England to chase Alan Shearer’s all-time Premier League record of 260 goals.
The Race for Kane
With 213 goals, Kane is already the second-highest scorer in Premier League history. Meanwhile, Barcelona is poised to enter the fray, as Lewandowski, now 37, considers his future despite an option to extend his contract until 2027.
For the Catalan club, Kane represents the ideal successor: experience, efficiency, and leadership. The battle with Manchester United could become fierce come summer 2026.
