Benjamin Pavard is at the center of an unexpected transfer saga. The 2018 World Cup winner and 2022 runner-up, under contract with Inter Milan until 2028, is now a top target for Galatasaray.
The Turkish champions, riding high on their title and boasting massive ambitions, are dreaming of bringing the French defender in this summer.
Pavard (29 years old, 55 caps, 5 goals) initially seemed set on postponing any decision about his future until after the 2026 World Cup. However, Galatasaray’s bold moves could make him reconsider. Following a record-breaking transfer for Victor Osimhen and the high-profile free signing of Leroy Sané on a huge salary, the Istanbul giants have proven they can make big splashes. They are reportedly ready to make a major financial effort to lure the former Bayern Munich player, who currently earns €5M net per year in Italy.
Inter, facing financial challenges, could open the door for a move in the €15–25M range. Pavard, who started in Friday’s friendly against Monaco, still has the trust of Cristian Chivu, but Galatasaray have now taken the lead should a transfer happen before the Turkish market closes on September 12.
The question remains — will Turkish passion be enough to sway Pavard off his 2026 path?
