Arsenal have secured a new defensive reinforcement! The Gunners officially announced on Friday the signing of Cristhian Mosquera on a five-year contract.
The Spanish U21 international joins from Valencia after making over 100 professional appearances despite being just 19. Transfer fee: €18 million + €4 million in bonuses.
Standing at 1.91m, the right-footed centre-back arrives as the natural backup for the Saliba-Gabriel pairing. Arsenal suffered late last season when Gabriel was injured, and Mosquera’s arrival adds much-needed depth. Mikel Arteta sees him as a future starter and a key piece for the rotation.
PSG were interested
Previously tracked by Paris Saint-Germain, Mosquera ultimately chose the Premier League for the next step in his career. His personal goal is clear: continue progressing and earn a call-up to Luis de la Fuente’s Spanish senior squad.

Arsenal’s transfer window heats up
Following the arrivals of Kepa, Zubimendi, and Norgaard, Mosquera becomes Arsenal’s fourth summer signing. And the next big move? All signs point to Viktor Gyökeres, who is expected to strengthen the Gunners’ frontline very soon.
