The Italian press is reigniting the rumor. Mike Maignan could make his return to PSG, his training club. This comes even as Paris has just signed Lucas Chevalier.
The difficulties of Lucas Chevalier at PSG are fueling transfer rumors. While Safonov claims to be ready to become the starter, the Italian reports suggest another French goalkeeper could take the Parisian goal.
Indeed, according to Sport Mediaset, PSG might change goalkeepers again just a few months after Chevalier’s arrival. In Italy, it is said that Paris wants to make a huge move: to bring back Mike Maignan, who is nearing the end of his contract with AC Milan.
Milan refuses the huge raise
The clash seems total between Maignan and Milan. The French national team goalkeeper, earning €3.2 million per year, is demanding €8 million to extend his contract. The Rossoneri club refuses to go beyond €5 million, and negotiations have broken down.
The result: Maignan should be able to sign freely on January 1, 2026. From that date, he can negotiate with any club. And PSG, already on the lookout, could seize the opportunity. Inter, Juventus, Chelsea… all are ready to fight.
But Paris is already dreaming of its new tricolor wall. Luis Enrique had bet on Lucas Chevalier, but so far, it has been a struggle. The season is still long, and we have seen other Parisian players start slowly before exploding, like Vitinha or Fabian Ruiz.
