Gonçalo Guedes returns to La Liga, Carlos Soler close to joining Villarreal. PSG galaxy to land in Spain.
Gonçalo Guedes is heading back to Spain. After a disappointing spell in the Premier League with Wolverhampton (2 goals in 29 games), the 28-year-old Portuguese winger has officially signed with Real Sociedad. He has penned a deal until 2029, with an optional extra year.
The transfer fee is reported to be €6 million including bonuses. Well-known in La Liga after his stints with Valencia and Villarreal, Guedes is hoping to revive his career in a familiar setting. Once a top prospect at PSG, he was the club’s fifth-largest sale ever — €40 million to Valencia in 2018.
Carlos Soler set for Villarreal move
Meanwhile, PSG’s Carlos Soler is closing in on a return to La Liga. According to Mundo Deportivo, he’s Marcelino’s top target at Villarreal, and the Spanish club is pushing hard to complete the deal.
The move would be structured as a loan with a mandatory purchase option, a setup that works for both the player and PSG. Eager to relaunch his career in Spain after two mixed seasons in Paris, Soler could finalize his move in the coming days.
