Premier League interest won’t move Gonçalo Ramos away from Paris Saint-Germain. Newcastle, searching for a replacement for Alexander Isak (close to joining Liverpool), have abandoned the pursuit after running into the player’s determination to stay and PSG’s hefty price tag.
Signed from Benfica in 2023, Ramos (24) endured a difficult first year due to illness, injury, and adaptation struggles. But the Portuguese striker has made his intentions clear: “Am I confirming that I’ll stay at PSG this season? Yes,” he declared.
Staying put unless a crazy offer comes in
According to The Times, Newcastle seriously considered him, but PSG’s €75–80m asking price, combined with Ramos’ resolve to succeed in Paris, cooled their interest. The Magpies are now turning to other targets.
Unless an outrageous bid arrives, Ramos will remain in Paris this summer. The challenge ahead: convincing Luis Enrique he deserves more minutes in a star-studded attack.
