The Paris Saint-Germain clear-out continues. On Sunday, the club officially confirmed the exit of Renato Sanches. The Portuguese midfielder, 28, joins Panathinaikos on loan, with no option to buy.
Once tipped as one of Europe’s brightest young talents, Sanches rose at Benfica, joined Bayern Munich, and lifted Ligue 1 with Lille in 2021. But at PSG, he never found his footing — just 27 games and two goals since arriving in 2022, followed by loan spells at Roma and Benfica.
Now, the out-of-favour star heads to Greece in search of revival. PSG wished him “a good season” in their statement, reminding fans that he remains under contract until 2027 and will return next summer.
Another unwanted name off Luis Enrique’s list — but will Sanches finally relaunch his career abroad?
