Real Madrid is wasting no time in shaping its midfield and defense for the post-Kroos and Modric era. According to Cadena COPE, Los Blancos are moving fast for Martín Zubimendi — and closing in on Trent Alexander-Arnold.

The Merengues have made Zubimendi a top priority and are ready to trigger his €60 million release clause from Real Sociedad. Arsenal has shown long-standing interest in the Spanish international, but Madrid is confident their sporting project — and consistent Champions League presence — gives them the edge.
