Rennes have found their new head coach, and with little surprise it is Franck Haise, who is close to club president Arnaud Pouille. The chapter between Habib Beye and Stade Rennais is now closed, at least from a sporting standpoint. Appointed in January 2025, the Senegalese coach was dismissed after four matches without a win, including three defeats, despite having been given a first reprieve at the end of October.
To replace him, the Breton club moved quickly and chose Franck Haise, currently without a contract and therefore available immediately. His name had already been strongly linked with the position even before Beye’s departure was officially confirmed.
A Return to Familiar Ground
“SRFC is delighted to announce the appointment of Franck Haise as head coach of the professional team. A coach within the Red and Black Academy between 2006 and 2012, and voted Ligue 1’s best coach with Lens in 2023, he returns to a place that means a great deal to him,” the club’s statement proudly said.
This appointment also marks a reunion between Haise and president Arnaud Pouille, who had wanted to bring him in ever since his own arrival in Rennes. The coach already knows the club well, having started his career on the bench with the youth teams, giving this comeback the feel of a full-circle moment.
New chapters are now set to be written to maintain an unbreakable bond — a true return to his roots in Red and Black.
