OL Files Complaint Over Kvaratskhelia’s Transfer to PSG

Olympique Lyonnais has officially filed a complaint with the legal commission of the French Professional Football League (LFP) regarding the eligibility of Khvitcha Kvaratskhelia in their recent match against PSG, which ended in a 3-2 defeat for Lyon.

According to OL president John Textor, Kvaratskhelia’s transfer to PSG was made possible through foreign funding that violates league regulations.

In a letter to the LFP, Textor argued that the registration of the Georgian forward breached administrative rules, accordons to l’Equipe.

Lyon cites Articles 556 and 560 of the LFP’s competition regulations, which state that if a club is found guilty of violating player eligibility rules, they could forfeit the match, though the complaining team would not necessarily gain the points.
