It’s taken just one season for Kylian Mbappé to assert himself as the new leader at Real Madrid. While some see disruption, most inside the club see a natural evolution—and Mbappé’s impact is impossible to ignore.
With 39 goals in all competitions, he has recorded the best debut season in Real Madrid history, even surpassing Cristiano Ronaldo in that regard. Despite a trophyless year, the dressing room has made up its mind: Mbappé is the boss.
Respect From the Squad – and the Club
According to Relevo, Real Madrid’s senior players back not only Mbappé’s numbers, but also his mental strength. He stepped up in key moments, including in the 4–3 Clásico loss to Barça, and remained composed even when booed at the Bernabéu. He’s also reportedly united the locker room, pushing an out-of-form Vinicius Jr into the background.
The Future is KM9
The club’s leadership is fully behind him. While publicly supporting Vinicius, the board is now clearly preparing to build the team around Mbappé. According to reports, a message has already been sent to Xabi Alonso, expected to replace Carlo Ancelotti: make Mbappé the face of the new Real Madrid era.
Though there’s still room for growth in his performances against Europe’s elite, Mbappé’s start in Madrid is seen as highly promising. And at the Bernabéu, greatness is earned through actions.
So far, Mbappé is letting his goals do the talking—and the whole club is listening.
