Luka Modric isn’t ready to hang up his boots just yet. The 2018 Ballon d’Or winner is set for one final challenge—this time in Serie A with AC Milan.

A New Chapter in Italy : After being pushed out at Real Madrid by new boss Xabi Alonso, Modric is hungry for revenge—on the pitch. According to La Repubblica, the Croatian maestro has agreed to a one-year deal with AC Milan. His goal? Stay sharp and competitive ahead of the 2026 World Cup with Croatia.

A Leader for the Next Generation

Turning 39 soon, Modric won’t be a benchwarmer. With Tijjani Reijnders expected to leave, Milan plans to give Modric a key role in midfield, helping guide a new wave of talent while anchoring the squad with his vision and experience.

Modric reportedly turned down Champions League-bound clubs to join Milan—proof that legacy and challenge matter more to him than silverware alone.

The Modric–Milan story is just beginning, and it could be a beautiful final chapter in the career of one of football’s most graceful midfielders.
